Hi Glenn - Thanks to info in WORiog, I tuned-in today (Sunday March 15) to hear Kenneth Bae's new
"NKHB" broadcast on 5920 (interesting to note this was one of the frequently used frequencies of
the now defunct "Voice of Freedom," which on Sept 1, 2025, the South Korea’s Ministry of National
Defense officially suspended broadcasts); suddenly on at *1730 UT, while broadcasting from Taiwan;
heard via Kiwi SDR remote at Okayama, Japan; mostly announcers and played one EZL song; a good
number of "NKHB" SAs. Bae has said "NKHB plans to provide online content for North Korean residents
living abroad" and "Broadcasting is almost the only channel through which we can connect with North
Korean residents right now."

According to "Xiaolin Broadcasting Station" (https://kbysradio.wordpress.com/2026/03/22/), some Chinese DXer
reported that Mongolian Radio have been testing on 12085kHz since last week, everyday at around 01:00-01:35UT,
with Japanese program of Voice of Mongolia, or Domestic MR3 (on 100.9MHz at Ulaan Baatar), or unmodulated carrier.

Hi Glenn - Thanks to an alert from Komatsubara Hiroyuki (Japan) [Thank you very much - Ron],
I believe I'm hearing Radio Farda, on 7520, from 1530+ UT; being well heard via KSDR remote
at Addis Ababa; seemed like an ID; had several spots in English with overlay translation
(item about Strait of Hormuz, Trump speaking about Iran, etc.).
Sorry I'm not familiar with this station or the language, so perhaps others can do a better
job of confirmation?
Thanks for any comments/observations!

Re: RRI Nabire with extremely extended broadcast -
Ron Howard May 06 (Wed), 2026 13:03 UTC No.5791 May 6 - RRI Nabire Pro 1/Pro Satu (7289.9), again heard with extended broadcasting; 1007+ UT; heard via
Townsville, Queensland KSDR remote; 1007-1030, with the news; very poor reception against a stronger CNR1
on 7290.0; ending the news at 1030 with the long version of the patriotic song “Bagimu Negeri” (For You,
Our Country); 1031+ start of their usual, distinctive Christian religious program (today with almost all
religious songs); again no break at 1100, but continued with religious song; 1102, finally a brief announcer
and more non-stop religious songs till I tuned-out at 1120.
I was checking later and was amazed to find Nabire still on the air! A significant new development.
From 1220 to 1228 UT, announcers; 1228, the distinctive, unmistakable patriotic song “Bagimu Negeri” (For You,
Our Country); music, announcers and EZL songs; poor/very poor with the continuing strong China QRM; still going
at tune-out at 1245.
Have never heard Nabire broadcasting this long before, not even close to this extremely extended programming.

Ron Howard May 08 (Fri), 2026 21:06 UTC No.5792 MYANMAR. 5985, Myanmar Radio, May 8, 14:31+ UT (11:31+ PM JST), well received at the KSDR remote station in
Cha-Am, Thailand. The "Friday Night Live Show" began as usual. The live audio feed was significantly out of sync
with the MRTV-HD video streaming (https://mrtv.gov.mm/mm/live-stream). Today's broadcast featured popular songs
(such as "Those Were The Days," sung in Burmese, and performances by Burmese singer/composer Chit Sue San),
rather than the usual indigenous music and songs. At 15:46 UT (12:46 AM JST on May 9), the "Friday Night Live Show"

CHINA. 6230, CNR1 program jamming of SOH, 0956 till off immediately after the 1000* UT time pips, May 14;
leaving a much weaker Sound of Hope (Taiwan) in the clear and // 6280 (stronger) [6215 remains silent];
strong CNR1 reception heard at the beach; thought China might return again to jam, but not so by 1020.
[Also see TAIWAN]
INDONESIA. 7289.9, RRI Nabire Pro 1/Pro Satu, 0815 till cut off at 0854* UT, May 14; their cut off time
recently has been extremely varied, as much as varying by many hours; the usual format of EZL songs and
announcers; the normal Islamic Shalawat Tarhim prayer, but today cut off before the start of the call-
to-prayer.
MALAYSIA[non-Sabah]. 11885, RTM Sabah V FM, 0734+ UT, May 14, heard at the beach; was broadcasting via Kajang,
near Kuala Lumpur; tuned-in to hear the Sabah Islamic Asr (mid-afternoon) call-to-prayer (correct time),
followed by some Islamic sounding music/singing and also EZL songs; fair with OTH radar QRM and QRN (static)
till I tuned-away at 0755.
15295, RTM Nasional FM, 0755+ UT, May 14, also broadcasting from Kajang; good reception heard at the beach;
in vernacular with DJ's playing various pop songs (Cher - "Strong Enough," etc.); many singing SAs; considerably
stronger than 11885 reception, till I tuned-away at 0815.
MYANMAR. 7345, Thazin Radio. Good News Here! Thanks very much to Art Delibert (USA) for the extremely helpful
alert that the long standing QRM from CNR7 (Voice of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area of the China
Central Radio and TV - 粤港澳大湾区之声), that was on frequency after 1100+ UT, is not currently being heard
(permanent schedule change?).
May 14 - Thazin Radio (7345) from 1120+ UT, being heard at the beach; poor reception (a poor propagation day?);
program of music (Sting - "Desert Rose," etc.). Very poor reception after 1155, due to the start of strong North
Korea jamming of National Unity Radio on 7340, which starts at *1200. Thazin signal was fading up heading toward
their sunset about 1158 UT. Believe with somewhat better conditions we should be able to catch this one one more
easily now.
TAIWAN. 6280, Sound of Hope, 1100 UT, May 14, heard at the beach; SA (no time pips) "Xiwang zhi sheng guoji guangbo

20:15 JST (0815-1115 UT) while DXing at my local beach. Another example of their greatly extended scheduling.
17:15-17:49 - Easy listening songs and announcers.
17:49-18:00 - Islamic segment (Islamic Shalawat Tarhim prayer [audio hum] and Maghrib [sunset] call-to-prayer
[no hum]), with Nabire sunset at 17:53.
18:00-19:29 - Variety of easy listening songs; brief series of songs in English (Bee Gees - "To Love Somebody," etc.).
After 19:00, significant CNR1 (7290.0) QRM.
1929-2015 - Christian programming; preaching and many religious songs (one song by solo child singing alone
with no music, singing a "Hallelujah" song, choir singing several hymns and another "Hallelujah" song). When
I finally tuned-out, it was still on the air and still with religious programming.
My recording made at the beach - https://app.box.com/s/5gg04jzimkwgfhlcggwm5up5uqneprgv .
One might wonder how I can do these marathon DX sessions at the beach? When listening in my car to the

Re: Yunnan Radio International on SW continues broadcasting, while YRI on 101.7 FM closes down -

Cahcn's posting (Google translation) - https://cahcn.github.io/posts/2026-05-28-yunnan-fm101.7.html :
"Yunnan International Broadcasting stopped using FM101.7 transmissions
On May 28, 2026, Yunnan Radio and Television Station announced that Yunnan International Broadcasting's
FM101.7 FM frequency in Kunming will cease transmission on May 30, 2026.
According to radio enthusiasts' monitoring reports over the past two days [please see my remote log/audio
below - Ron], Yunnan International Broadcasting has a shortwave frequency of 6035kHz transmitted normally.
Yunnan International Broadcasting, formerly known as "Yunnan Radio Station Yunling Voice," which launched
in 1986, broadcasts programs in both Chinese and Vietnamese, with signals directed toward Vietnam. It is
one of three international broadcasters in China mainland with independent transmission coverage."
Some of my observed history: PBS Yunnan (6035) with FM99 relay; 1300, Nov 12, 2020. The usual time pips,
Beijing time check, station's singing "Radio Shangri-la" jingle; followed by spoken English ("Flying with
the heart, traveling with the sound of Shangri-la"). On Jan 10, 2021, I heard the new multi-language SAs
("Yunnan Radio International") for the first time, no longer with FM99/Radio Shangri-la programming.
Today's remote log/audio:
CHINA. 6035, Yunnan Radio International, 1145+ UT, June 1, good reception via Khon Kaen, Thailand KSDR
remote; best in USB, due to strong DRM on 6030 (China/CNR1); in Chinese with announcers and some EZL
music; 1200, multi-language SAs ("Yunnan Radio International"), continuing in Chinese with announcers
and mostly airing EZL songs; 1300, multi-language IDs; introduction in Vietnamese and Chinese, then
into the Vietnamese programming. So I believe this schedule then is still correct - Vietnamese 1000-1030
and 1300-1330 UT, otherwise in Chinese, as often observed in the past. I'm very pleased to find that YRI
SW is still active!

series of EZL songs, one in English, and an announcer; 1159, QRM significantly increased so after

checked via Bandung KSDR remote, also silent.
5985 (Myanmar Radio) continues to be silent at 1250 UT, on June 8, at the beach.
9690 (Pan American Broadcasting), from France; no Monday Tony Alamo program as had been recently heard;
checking at 2015 UT, June 8, via KSDR Bandung remote; nothing on frequency. I should also note that I have
been checking this frequency for the return of the Voice of Indonesia for a while now, with no results.
INDONESIA. 7203, RRI Pro 3/Pro Tiga, broadcasting from Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta; briefly checking at the beach
1133-1139 UT, June 8; yes, heard again with decent reception and again listening from 1228 to 1245 UT.
7289.9, RRI Nabire Pro 1/Satu 1, from 1140 till I suspect they closed down about 1230 UT, June 8; while listening
at the beach; EZL songs and announcers underneath China QRM; 1200-1228, extreme China QRM and only heard
bits and pieces from RRI, but sounded like the news and strongly suspect // 7203 (RRI Pro 3), as they both clearly
ended the news at the same time (1228) with the airing of the RRI song "Mars Angkasawan Radio Republik Indonesia";
believe Nabire then shortly closed down, while 7203 Pro 3 continued on till I tuned-away at 1245. So Nabire again

Ron Howard Jun 20 (Sat), 2026 21:34 UTC No.5829 Love my new LITEMALADSP MLite-880. https://www.elecevolve.com/products/mlite-880 .
June 20:
AUSTRALIA[non-log]. 5055, Radio 4DX, on June 20, noticed off the air with no testing today
(Al took the weekend off?). Art Delibert, listening on the East Coast, also observed no signal
today, after he also heard a faint signal yesterday.
INDONESIA. 4755, VOI, briefly checked at 1109 UT, June 20; again heard the news in stilted
Chinese till ending the news with the RRI song "Mars Angkasawan Radio Republik Indonesia,"
unlike yesterday's airing of the patriotic song “Bagimu Negeri” (For You, Our Country); reception
is so much better than with the CR-1.
7203, RRI Pro 3, 1113-1135 UT, June 20; news, etc; mostly fair reception.
7289.9, RRI Nabire Pro 1, tuned-in at 0801 till tuned-away at 1105 UT, June 20 (yesterday with
0853*, so really extreme variation in their daily scheduling!). Started out very poor and improved
up to fair after their local sunset (0857). Happy to learn that Art Delibert, listening on the East
Coast, also had some Nabire reception today. Well done!
0801-0854: Today with the normal non-stop EZL songs and occasional announcers.
0854-0905: The usual Islamic segment.
0905-1000: Continuing on with EZL songs (no Islamic sounding music/songs today).
1000-1020: Start of light QRM from China; news with many sound bites.
1020: Ending the news with the patriotic song “Bagimu Negeri” (For You, Our Country).
1022-1058: Christian religious segment; a lot of preaching today, along with religious songs
(choir singing).
1058-1105: Into segment of EZL songs, with no break at ToH.
SOLOMON ISLANDS[non-log]. 5020, SIBC continues to be off the air when checking at 0925
and 1137 UT, June 20; this must be more than just the usual power outage silence.
U S A. 7505, WRNO, pleased to find that Glenn Hauser and I were listening at the same time to this
greatly extended broadcast. 0707-0725 UT and still on at last 0750 check, June 20; preaching
in English; fair-good reception.
June 19:
AUSTRALIA. 5055, Radio 4DX, randomly from 0940 till ending at 1006* UT, June 19; continuing with
transmission of test tone (no modulation yet); fair.
INDONESIA. 4755, VOI, 1102-1112 UT, June 19; the news in stilted Chinese till 1108, ending the news
with the patriotic song “Bagimu Negeri” (For You, Our Country); poor to almost fair (much better
reception than with the CR-1).
7203, RRI Pro 3, 1015-1053 UT, June 19; news; started out very poor, but as expected, slowly faded
up to fair towards Jakarta sunset at 1047; from 1049 to 1052, drums intro to Islamic Maghrib (sunset)
call-to-prayer.
7289.9, RRI Nabire Pro 1, 0825-0853* UT, June 19; the usual non-stop EZL songs; signal improving
heading towards Nabire sunset at 0857, but cut off before that and before the Islamic segment.
MALAYSIA. 11885, RTM Sabah V FM, 0900 UT, June 19; time pips, start of the news in vernacular;
ending the news with a "Malaysia" song; 0913, drums intro to Islamic call-to-prayer; good to fair
reception.
15295, RTM Nasional FM, 0917-0927 UT, June 19; EZL songs; excited promo for the World Cup matches;
good reception.
SOLOMON ISLANDS[non-log]. 5020, SIBC continues to be off the air at 0928 & 1113 UT, June 19; checking
on their former 9545, at 0928, I heard a very strong signal from Alaska, with no hint of SIBC, which
has not used this frequency in many years.
VANUATU. 5040, Radio Vanuatu, 1054 till audio ended at 1101 UT, June 19; religious song, closing
announcement and National Anthem; followed by the open carrier, which continues for a long time
(most days observed still on for over an hour!).

Hi Glenn - Thanks to Hiroshi and Roger for the tip about the "Shiokaze Frequency Change" yesterday!
KOREA NORTH[non]. 6070, Shiokaze/Sea Breeze/JSR, 1310+ UT, June 24 (Wednesday), heard via KSDR remote
in Japan; produced by COMJAN (Investigation Commission on Missing Japanese Probably Related to North
Korea [COMJAN], is a Japanese non-governmental organization established in January 2003 to research
and investigate cases of Japanese disappearances that are “probably related” to the Democratic People’s
Republic of Korea [DPRK]); Website - https://www.chosa-kai.jp/# ; the usual Wed. English; segments
"Today's Newsflash," "Today's News on North Korea Issues" and at 1324, "This is a message from the
government of Japan"; 1330+, the half hour program is again repeated; yesterday they switched to this
frequency, so no DPRK jamming yet. For a while now, Shiokaze has been using just a single frequency,
after many years it was aired on two different frequencies at the same time.
My remote audio, which starts with "This is a message . . .":
https://app.box.com/s/n2gnzov9t62qasd5irjwipffmwyxu9c0 .
"US Congress Resolution Condemning North Korea for the Abductions and Continued Captivity of Citizens of
the ROK and Japan as Acts of Terrorism and Gross Violations of Human Rights. We very much appreciate the
US House of Representatives has passed the abduction resolution on July 11, 2005. The full text is as follows.
109th CONGRESS, 1st Session, H. CON. RES. 168" - http://sukuukai.jp/narkn/ :
". . . Whereas on September 17, 2002, after considerable pressure from the Government of Japan, North Korean
leader Kim Jong-il admitted that agents of his government had abducted thirteen Japanese citizens in the 1970s
and 1980s and assured Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi that this would never happen again;
Whereas despite assurances to the contrary, North Korea continues to order and carry out abductions, and, as
recently as August 8, 2004, North Korean agents operating along the Chinese border kidnapped Ms. Jin Kyung-sook,
a former North Korean refugee and South Korean passport-holder;
Whereas the abduction policy of North Korea has been integral to its espionage and terrorist activities, and
abductees have been kidnapped to work as spies, to train North Korean agents in language, accents, and culture,
and to steal identities, as in the case of Mr. Tadaaki Hara;
Whereas the Pyongyang regime used abductee Ms. Yaeko Taguchi as the Japanese language instructor for North
Korean terrorist Kim Hyon-hee, who was caught carrying a Japanese passport after planting a bomb on Korean
Air Lines flight 858 that killed 115 people in 1987;
Whereas many victims of North Korean abduction have been seized during terrorist attacks, as in the hijacking
of South Korean planes in 1958 and 1969, and, decades later, Pyongyang continues to hold twelve passengers of
a hijacked Korean Air flight, including passenger Mr. Chang Ji-young and flight attendant Ms. Song Kyong-hi,
who has since been allowed a brief visit by her South Korean family . . ."

Re: Indonesia: RRI Nabire with interesting developments -
Ron Howard Jun 25 (Thu), 2026 00:09 UTC No.5832 - - - - Posted to WORiog:
Hi Glenn - Thanks very much to Lúcio Otavio Bobrowiec for his informative observation:
** 7290kHz, R. RRI Nabire Pro 1, Nabire, INS; 19/Jun/2026, 0931-0946, OM, music, YL. Almost
always arriving here with a critical signal, poor (LOB - Brazil).
I say informative because earlier I reported:
7289.9, RRI Nabire Pro 1, 0825-0853* UT, June 19; the usual non-stop EZL songs; signal
improving heading towards Nabire sunset at 0857, but cut off before that and before the Islamic
segment. (Ron)
Normally I briefly check after Nabire's cut off, to see if they have returned, but that had not been
observed. So LOB's log clearly indicated that at times, Nabire is returning to the air again after
the cut off time.
Yes, on June 24, listening at my local beach, noticed RRI Nabire from 0815 till cut off at 0857* UT
and briefly checked after that with no results, but from 1110 to closing down at 1130* UT, I was clearly
hearing RRI Nabire on the air again; the usual EZL songs and announcers in Bahasa Indonesia, with
light 7290.0 QRM (Nabire best in LSB). So I wonder what the time gap is between their cut off time
and their start of broadcasting again?

Hi Zach - Thanks for your helpful postings! Appreciate your observations. Here are a few of my related logs:
CNR1 program jamming on new 6240, noticed June 25-26-27, from my usual checking about 1030+ UT at the beach.
I have to believe this is just an error, as it most certainly was intended for Sound of Hope on 6230, which
is the most commonly jammed frequency and which was not jammed on the 25-26-27. A rather rare development for
China to make this mistake!
TAIWAN. 6280, Sound of Hope, heard daily from about 1030+ UT, on June 25-26-27, in the clear with fairly
decent reception.
On the 26th, from 1056 to 1100 with radio drama; 1100, with the usual SA (no time pips) "Xiwang zhi sheng
guoji guangbo diantai" (Sound of Hope international broadcast station), given twice (once by OM and once
by YL). June 26, five minute audio made at the beach - https://app.box.com/s/mfcx490wmv1k1qr7i8goui2jtc9lgjpn .

Re: Japan: Radio station JG2XA (5006 & 8006) off the air! -
Ron Howard Jul 04 (Sat), 2026 17:28 UTC No.5835
Greetings from California! Recently I have been corresponding with:
Professor Keisuke HOSOKAWA, Ph.D.
Department of Communication Engineering and Informatics,
University of Electro-Communications
1-5-1, Chofugaoka, Chofu, Tokyo 182-8585, JAPAN
Because his station (Radio Station JG2XA), which for years has been carrying out a HF-Doppler
(HFD) project, was observed in June with some irregularities. Then today (July 4), listening
at my local beach at 1020 UT, noticed both his frequencies were silent (5006 & 8006), which
were both low powered (believe 200W). The professor explains:
"On Jul 2, we stopped our transmission on both the frequencies due to a radio license issue.
We hope to make our Tx system back to normal in 3-4 months. Thanks! Keisuke."
