"Ozy Radio" IDs; 1200-1210 with the news; not readable, but could
make out bits and pieces; still above threshold level at 1243.

Current marine weather and forecast, followed by current conditions
for coastal locations (Carnarvo, North Island, Rottnest Island, etc.);
ending with "V M W" SA; fair, even with QRN (static); readable. My

reception from this low powered station; 1156-1436; strongest feature
continues to be the old Radio Australia's "Waltzing Matilda," which
were always well heard at 1156, 1206 (end of news), 1218, 1240,
1249, 1305 (end of news), 1337, 1348 (end of news, which mentioned
"suburban Melbourne," etc.), 1357, 1406 (end of news - please listen
to my audio) and 1417; sometimes able to make out the Dacelo
novaeguineae; new email address - ozyradio@gmail.com given with
SAs; mostly playing pop songs ("Hooked On A Feeling," etc.); my local
sunrise was at 1347 UT.
With today's improved reception of Ozy Radio, also came improved
signal from China (Beibu Bay Radio) on 5050, which caused some
QRM for Ozy Radio, so was forced to listen in LSB for the best results.
Considerable QRN (static) and only bits & pieces readable on my audio
ending with Dacelo novaeguineae, Waltzing Matilda and "Ozy Radio" SA,

1018+; rare for both of them to be silent at the same time; this was
also confirmed by Hiroyuki Komatsubara (Japan), earlier at 0940.
Probably due to the PNG Power Ltd痴 "Easipay" services, that crashed
on Monday, leaving thousands without power. So maybe NBC stations
were using that system to pre-pay for their power?

strong signal as usual; never jammed by N. Korea, but on some days is covered by OTH

extended BBS broadcast was just an anomaly.
PBS Yunnan: 1128-1213* cut off; 1131 usual clear SA in English;
"Yunnan Radio and Television International, the Voice Shangri-la,"
but otherwise in Chinese and mixing with BBS; 1201 switched
to non-stop filler EZL instrumental music

KOREA SOUTH. 5920, Voice of Freedom. It was on Sept 7 that VOF
moved to this clear (non-jammed) frequency (ex: 6045); today (Sept 23)
is the first day North Korea moved the pulsating noise jamming away
from 6045 (now a clear frequency), down to this frequency; fortunately
the VOF signal is much stronger than the jamming, so reception was
mostly fair; first noted at 0941 and still jamming at 1414+.

from 1115+, certainly only RRI Palangkaraya here, with NBC silent,
but 3260 (NBC Madang) was on the air.
INDONESIA. 3325, RRI Palangkaraya, Sept 23 anomaly; 1203 without
the usual Jakarta news relay; instead almost sounded like a religious
program (Christian?), some slow tempo singing and what certainly sounded
like non-stop preaching till 1245; not the normal format at all; also the local
news coverage at 1400 was dropped today. Rare for them to cancel both
news segments!
BTW - Have been interested this year to read there is increased discussions
of moving the capital from Jakarta to Palangkaraya. Earlier news stories at
http://goo.gl/iM1r7R and http://goo.gl/4GPJ5V . Does this have anything to
do with this station being the last RRI station on SW?
Voice of Indonesia, 9524.95, continues to be silent through Sept 24.

Sept 24, on 5920, at 1052, 1100 & 1143 heard VOF with no jamming,
but at 1148 the N. Korean jamming was here, just like yesterday; then
later at 1252 VOF was clear of any jamming. Seemed a problem today
in N. Korea with keeping this jamming on?

and Thursday segment; in past years always SA just as "Limbang FM"
during this time period, but Limbang FM must have been taken over by
Wai FM this year; in vernacular; played mostly pop songs; fair-good.
MYANMAR. 5985, Myanmar Radio. The Monday edition of "Say It In
English" always starts earlier than the Wednesday repeated show; on
Sept 25 (Mon.) heard complete program 1220-1233; this weeks
adventures (dialogue) of "Tom," dealing with "Mr. Harris" wanting him
to take a business trip to "Guildford," so he drives there along with "Kate,"
but he is speeding and gets stopped by the police; very readable.
SOLOMON ISLANDS. 5020, SIBC, 1157*, Sept 25. So they have set
the timer on both frequencies to cut off at xx57* (9545, at 0457*).

Glad to have NBC back again!
KOREA SOUTH. 5920, Voice of Freedom, 1020, Sept 26. Still heard
with decent reception even with the N. Korea jamming; still heard at
1320.
RUSSIA. 7345, Radio Sakha, via Yakutsk, 1032-1100, Sept 26. Mostly
Russian/Yakut sounding non-stop songs; 1050 usual format with SA; 1100
IS (Jew's harp - khomus) and time pips in the clear, but then hit with strong
CNR1 sign on. Their 7295 remains off the air.

EZL Pacific Islands music/singing; 1215 announcer, but too weak to
make out language; the usual strong San Francisco QRM from 560
(KSFO).
KOREA SOUTH. 5920, Voice of Freedom. On Sept 27, with carrier
already on at 0850, as well as the North Korean jamming; 0857 start
of audio; 0859 distinctive station jingle (SJ) - "jinsil-e soli, huimang-e soli,
jayu-e soli bangsong" (Voice of Truth, Voice of Hope, Voice of Freedom
Bangsong), followed by time pips. Thanks to Amano-san, this station
can now be fairly easily SA via this singing jingle; the jamming here
is rather ineffectual, with VOF coming through the jamming fairly well.

Shiokaze/Sea Breeze, via Yamata (Japan), at 1259, on Sept 28.
Suddenly on with a carrier till audio started at ToH; as today was
Thursday, was in English; "Today's Newsflash"; fair-good and so far
unjammed by N. Korea, as yesterday was Shiokaze's first day here,
as reported by Hiroyuki Komatsubara. Today found strong jamming
still down on ex: 5965.
KOREA SOUTH. 5920, Voice of Freedom. On Sept 28, with anomaly.
Only a VOF carrier here, as well as the usual North Korean jamming;
VOF never with any modulation/audio today; 1026-1255.

GOA. 15185, AIR via Panaji, 0333, Sept 29. Fair reception with nice
subcontinent music and singing; 0340 into Hindi. Didn't think to check
for // 15120 via Bengaluru.
KOREA SOUTH. 4885, Echo of Hope - VOH, on Sept 30, found
program out of sync; instead of the normal bell/gong being rung
slowly three times at 1303, today was at 1311. Am hearing this daily
with good reception and never any N. Korea jamming, but occasionally
with OTH radar QRM.
VOH's three different programs in Korean:
4885 - "Radio Broadcasting Guide."
6350 - "Hope plaza of my brothers" or "Hope Plaza of my brothers who
have been defeated" (thanks very much to Amano-san for this info).
3985 // 5995 // 6250 // 9100 - Their main program.
Only 4885 and 9100 remain unjammed by N. Korea.
Voice of Freedom, on 5920, with another day (Sept 30) of just a strong
carrier and never any audio, but with the usual pulsating noise jamming
from N. Korea. The jamming is the same as was formerly on ex: 6045,
which since Sept 23 has been a clear frequency with no jamming at all.

No Voice of Indonesia at all today on 9525.95.
Good news - as Hiroyuki-san has already reported - Voice
of Freedom, on 5920, today (Oct 11) again heard with strong
audio over the jamming (checking 1001 through 1322).
PBS Yunnan (6035) cut off at 1200*, with no BBS/Bhutan present.
Usual patriotic song 釘agimu Negeri・(For You Our Country -

via RRI Palangkaraya (3325).
The Wednesday edition (Oct 11) of "Say It In English" started at
1245 via Myanmar Radio, on 5985; a repeat of Monday's (heard
1218-1231) adventures (dialogue) of "Tom." Wed. program always
starts later than Monday's.
Yesterday (Oct 10), had definite Calgary (Canada) - CFVP relaying
CKMX (AM 1060), on 6030, at 1318, with clear mention of "Calgary
Stampede," underneath a strong CNR1 (China).
Also yesterday with AIR via Delhi-Kingsway on 7555.77, with nice exotic
Tibetan music/chanting/singing; yes, is scheduled to be in Tibetan, but
what I heard was non-stop music 1251+.

is about 3,311 km. Running past their recently heard 0457*.

religious (Christian) songs till cut off. Seems they no longer carry the Stacy
Rose Sunday show ("Island Praise"), which in the past started about 1201.
U S A. 4875-USB, Air Force MARS net, 1211-1222*, Oct 15. Seems this
is a Sunday only net, as I note that last years logs by Glenn and myself on
Sept 4 & Oct 23 were both on Sun.; net managed by the usual AFF4FL,
asking for questions or comments, but I was unable to hear the other
people he was talking with; he said he would not be on next Sunday.

testing on 5045 kHz., till off the air since Sept 7), now has
the use of 4835 kHz.. He indicated to me "I was able to
acquire this frequency off the government."

"Here on the California coast the only station I occasionally
do hear now on 4835 kHz. is All India Radio - Gangtok

faint audio. Here is a recording I made earlier this year -

As you can hear, even on a very good day, they have rather
poor reception via their 10 kW transmitter. AIR Gangtok

Gangtok. It is rare that reception of AIR Gangtok on 4835 kHz.

North Korea jamming.
Not // to the main program of VOH on 3985, 5995, 6250
and 9100.
Also not // to the VOH third program on 4885.
VANUATU. 7259.96, R. Vanuatu. On Oct 25, with respectable
signal. Highlights:
1202-1212: Christian preaching in vernacular; definite mention
of "Vanuatu" and countless mentions of "God."
1212-1302: Mostly non-stop religious songs, followed by EZL
pop songs.
1302-1321: News in vernacular; many sound bites.
1347: Chatting (via phone?). Break at 1350 with indigenous
drums and "Radio Vanuatu", then back to chatting.
1400: Indigenous drums and "Radio Vanuatu, Voice of Blong
Yumi" (thanks to Glenn for the correction in DXLD - Ron).

mixing with RRI Palangkaraya, which was slightly stronger.
Recent news story regarding the Bougainville independence

BTW - NBC Madang (3260) cut off at 1202*, on Oct 26; just
as the news in English started; a better than average day for
them with above threshold level audio.
CHINA. 6185, China Huayi Broadcast Co. (CHBC) (very
tentative), 1248, Oct 26. Has been a long time since I last
checked on this; signal was mostly decent level carrier, but
very little audio; seemed to be them, but nothing like the
good modulation I heard in past years.
