have returned to their former frequency; thanks to the
timely observation made yesterday by Hiroyuki
Komatsubara (Japan). Now ex: 5979 is silent.
May 14, tuned in at 1127 to hear traditional Chinese music;
1230 announcer in Chinese with EZL background music.

** CHINA. 5970, Jan 23 at 1342 in absence of WEWN Spanish, two Chinese
mixing; echo jammer? At this hour EiBi and Aoki have only PBS Gannan:
EiBi says 1020-1410 in Tibetan via he site; Aoki says 1020-1230
Tibetan, 1230-1410 Chinese; but also 1300-1400 CNR11 in Tibetan, all
from Hezuo site. That would certainly account for the self-defeating
double audio. WRTH slick map page 55 shows Hezuo is in north central
China between Xining and Baoji (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

As Gannan PBS changed most of morning and evening programs to Chinese,
it may be that it is relaying CNR-1 until the end time of 14:00 at night.
I appreciate valuable information. I will investigate as well.
I hope to be able to do 3990 kHz broadcasting and parallel check, but
at my location there is strong interference. (H.K.)
