All India Radio, Bangalore has re-commissioned its 500 KW DRM SW
transmitter with effect from 3rd August, 2018.
DRM transmissions were off air since 27th Feb 2017 as the main tube failed.
Tentative schedule in DRM mode :
European Beam at 320 deg
1820-2230 UTC (2350-0400 IST) - 7550 kHz
Japanese beam at 90 deg
2245-0045 UTC (0415-0615 IST) - 7550 kHz

India is celebrating its 70th Republic Day on 26 Jan 2019 (Saturday). All India Radio
will broadcast special programs in connection with the Republic Day celebrations as
follows:
25th January 2019 (Friday) : Eve of Republic Day
1330 UTC (1900 IST) onwards Hon鍛le President's address to the nation in Hindi &
English. This will be broadcast by all stations of AIR on MW, SW, FM. Shortly after
this broadcast, the local stations will broadcast its translations in local
languages.

Radio stations in Jammu, Srinagar and Leh have been renamed as All India Radio, Jammu;
All India Radio, Srinagar; and All India Radio Leh, respectively.
With the approval of Prasar Bharati Board, the nomenclature has been changed from
'Radio Kashmir' to 'All India Radio' in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
This change comes into effect from 31st October, 2019.
The identity announcements from these stations have been changed to "All India Radio"/"Akashvani"
from "Radio Kashmir" with effect from today, i.e. 31 October, 2019, alongside the appointed day
of Jammu & Kashmir Re-organisation Act, 2019.
