Re: Asia - Pacific DX log(16) --- Ron Howard - Jun 18, 2018 00:22 UTC No.3312
AUSTRALIA[non-log]. 5055, 4KZ, at 1319, on June 17. Noted was off the air.
Early sign off? Ozy Radio (4835) was broadcasting at that time.

BOUGAINVILLE[non-log]. 3325, NBC Bougainville, noted off the air June 15,
16 & 17, checking after 1000+. What has happened to them? Unusual for
them to be missing for so many days, but is a good chance to hear the
"Voice of Indonesia" language programs in the clear, also on 3325, now
via RRI Palangkaraya.

CHINA. 6035, "PBS" Yunnan, 1233, on June 16, with the usual relay of
FM99.

Not sure if appropriate any longer to call this "PBS"? Seems the name
"People's Broadcasting Station" is no longer in fashion, per DXLD 18-24,
(http://www.w4uvh.net/dxlatest.txt) and perhaps "Broadcasting Network"
will be the future correct title? This may help explain why last year
Sichuan PBS-2 stopped using their nice SAs in English - "Nationality
Channel. Sichuan, the People's Radio Station. SW 6060, 7225, FM 88.1."

FYI - On March 18, there was a reorganization. The new State Administration
of Radio and Television (SART), was formerly the State Administration of Radio,
Film, and Television (SARFT) and the State Administration of Press,
Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT). Website -
http://www.sapprft.gov.cn/ , in Chinese.

INDIA. 5040, AIR Jeypore, 1242, June 16. In Hindi and with subcontinent music.
Not bad for summertime listening, but of course with QRN (static). My music
audio at http://goo.gl/qQe3oR .

INDONESIA. 3325, "Voice of Indonesia" via RRI Palangkaraya, on June 17.
Started close to 1024; in English; 1124 noted in Chinese; 1223 in Japanese;
1300 VOI intro in English, saying something like - You can listen to our
broadcast on 9525 kilohertz; gave just the one frequency, so no longer
the "15150, 9525, 11785" frequencies given; 1316 segment "Today In
History"; not very readable.

Approximate language schedule per -
http://radio.chobi.net/DX/bbs/?res:133#3309 :

*0950-1000 (English) ??
1000-1100 (English) ?? [noted starting past 1000 and yes, in English - Ron]
1100-1200 Chinese
1200-1300 Japanese
1300-1400 English
1400-1500 Indonesian
1500-1600 (Dutch) ??
1600-1700 Arabic
1700-1800 Spanish
1800-1900 German
1900-2000 (English)
2000-2100* (French)

Now that VOI seems to be staying on 3325 kHz. for a while, would be interesting
to know if they still broadcast the "Exotic Indonesia" programs, during some
weekdays, during the English language segments. In past years Glenn Hauser
and I often enjoyed hearing these joint programs of VOI-Jakarta and different
regional stations ("RRI Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan," or "97.2 FM Pro 2 RRI
Bukittinggi, West Sumatra" or "100.9 Paradise FM, RRI Denpasar," or "88.5 FM
world wide RRI Samarinda, East Kalimantan").

KOREA SOUTH. 6045.0, Voice of Freedom, June 17 (Sunday - weekend schedule),
with N. Korea jamming. 0930 - program "Namnam Bugnyeo" ("South man, North
woman"), with man announcing "Namnam" and woman with "Bugnyeo," then
together with "Namnam Bugnyeo"; presentation of a drama; 0940 - program
"Aneun geos-i him-ida" ("Knowing is power").

These programs still conform to the Amano (Japan) & Chulsu (S. Korea) schedule
posted at "Now On The Radio" - http://radio.chobi.net/DX/bbs/?res:2480#3266 .

PAPUA NEW GUINEA. 3260, NBC Madang (Maus Blong Garamut), 1125,
June 17. Usual Sunday religious preaching in Pidgin and religious songs,
except at 1135 they played "Blowin' In The Wind," which is usually
associated here in the USA with the civil rights movement and also
being a anti-war song (interesting selection); as it was the weekend, no
news at 1200; cut off at 1205*. As has recently been noted, heard with
reception considerable better than in past years. BTW - NBC Bougainville
(3325) silent on June 15-16 & 17.

RUSSIA[non-log]. Radio Sakha (7295 & 7345). Thanks to info passed along
by Anker Petersen, it is now confirmed that NVK Radio Sakha is presently off
the air on SW due to lack of funds. Hence they didn't respond to my mid-May
emails to them, in which I expressed the hope they would soon return to SW.

Per "RUS-DX," # 981 (June 17) - http://rusdx.narod.ru/bulletin/981.txt

Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
--------------------------------------
The radio station broadcasting programs in Yakut and Russian languages on
HF frequencies of 7295 and 7345 kHz, prepared by NBC "Sakha Yakutia",
has ceased broadcasting since April 27. The project was funded by the
republican government, broadcasting was discontinued due to financial
problems. There is no information on the date of renewal of information
at this time. (Captain Flint / http://dxforum.ru/viewtopic.php?t=371).
