Hi Ron-san and Philby
Lots of information, ありがとうございます。

KOREA SOUTH. 6045, VOF, 1125-1205 UT, Nov 19 (Friday).
Very good reception.
At 1156 UT - the two female together say the program name "Aneun geos-i him-ida!".
At 1200 UT - time tone; station jingle "jinsil-e soli,
huimang-e soli, jayu-e soli bangsong!" (Voice of truth, Voice of hope, Voice of Freedom Broadcast), "Jayu-e
solibangsong-eseo bam 9 (ahob) sileul allyeodeulibnida" ("Voice of Freedom announces 9pm"), "Bodo gwangjang" (News Plaza).

Re: Myanmar Radio [Amano]
Hi Ron-san,
Thank you for following me.
ありがとうございます。

The really short music was a Myanmar radio station single, wasn't it?
Certainly it announces three frequencies on the song.
I checked how to read Burmese numbers and listen again.
I heard the following frequencies.

Ron's audio - https://app.box.com/s/1h4ts48rthxqqzrvbiliwxgphlm1gc6s .
My audio - https://radio.chobi.net/bbs/img/9123.mp3 .

1: 5985 kHz.
?????????????? kHz.
Ngarr koe shit ngarr kilohertz.
Ron's audio, 00:08-0012.
My audio, 00:14-00:18.

2: 576 kHz.
???????????????????? kHz.
Ngarrrar hkunait s y hkyawwat kilohertz.
Ron's audio, 00:16-00:20.
My audio, 00:22-00:26.

3: 594 kHz.
???????????????? kHz.
Ngarrrar koe s y layy kilohertz.
Ron's audio, 00:24-00:28.
My audio, 00:30-00:34.

There are language lesson programs and music programs, so listening to Myanmar radio on 5985 kHz around 1300 UT is a lot of fun.
Recently, part of the 49mb North Korean super jamming has disappeared and it is very easy to hear.

My audio below is the ending of a Myanmar music program program by two male and female DJs and the beginning of a Myanmar ethnic music program by a male DJ.

Re: Australia - Radio 4KZ on 5055 kHz., with extended broadcast [Ron Howard]

Amano - Excellent work determining the three Myanmar Radio frequencies. I had often wondered what they were.
Well done!

AUSTRALIA. A Thanksgiving Day treat (Nov 25)! Radio 4KZ (5055) with an extended broadcast and above average reception
(monitoring 1105-1205 UT); recently I had been observing their cut off about 1000. Nice selections of songs today: The
Bangles - "Manic Monday," Jimmy Cliff - "You Can Get It If You Really Want," Petula Clark - "My Love," Phil Collins -
"One More Night," Tom Jones - "I'll Never Fall In Love Again," Stevie Wonder - "I Just Called To Say I Love You,"
Creedence Clearwater Revival - "I Heard It Through The Grapevine," etc.

BTW - Voice of Indonesia (3325) returned to the air today (1100+) with their usual carrier and no audio; it had been
silent this month.

Re: 4940 kHz. is now IDing as "This is the Voice of Taiwan Strait News Radio." [Ron Howard]
CHINA. Dec 1, noted this on 4940 kHz.

0940-0945 UT: Test tone (// 4900).

0945-0955: Open carrier (// 4900)

0955: Start of IS (// 4900)

0956: Not //

1000: Time pips; intro SA, including "This is the Voice of Taiwan Strait News Radio." So they indeed have the same
SA as I formerly heard back in 2012. Will be interesting to know just how often this ID is being used?

Re: Sarawak FM on 9835 kHz. [Ron Howard]
MALAYSIA[non-Sarawak]. 9835, Sarawak FM, via Kajang (on the west coast of the Malaysia peninsula - not
from Sarawak). Had been off the air for several days, but Dec 7 came back with a better than usual signal
(1014+ UT).

Call-to-prayer times for Kuching:

Re: Korea, etc. [Ron Howard]
BHUTAN[non-log]. 6035, BBS. In past years I was easily able to pull this in at my local sunset during the?winter
DX season,?but this Dec. when checking 0050-0115 UT, nothing at all was heard on 6035. Seems they are really off
the air now!

KOREA SOUTH:

Regarding Glenn Hauser's log - "KOREA SOUTH [and non]. 6000, Dec 24 at 0741, checking RHC?frequenciesbut this one
normally off by a sesquihour?earlier, yet?something weak is here and also with jamming noise. Mustbe Echo of?Hope,
instead of alternate 5995. No report from Ron this week about?its current jumparounds, but Dec?24 Aoki has it on
6000 from 0500 but?no indication of jamming (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)"

Glenn - You were correct! From Dec 20 (Mon.) to 26 (Sun.), Echo of Hope - VOH frequencies were - 3990 // 4885 //?
6000 // 6250 // 6355 // 9100 kHz.

VOH frequencies heard on Dec 27 (Mon.) -? 3985 // 4880 // 5995 // 6245 // 6350 // 9095 kHz., all were fair-good with?
no N. Korea jamming yet; at 1140 UT, with EBS TV audio feed for the?English?language lesson "Wang cho bo yeong-eo,"?
which is always aired only on weekdays; later at 1239, with the EBS news?headlines and news stories?in?English and?
Korean. These frequencies should be good through Jan 2 (Sun.)?

Voice of the People frequencies on Dec 27 (Mon.) - 3910 // 3930 // 3480 (heard daily now after the reactivation on?
Dec 6) // 4450 // 6520 // 6600 kHz., at 1145 UT.

Voice of Freedom, on 5920, at 1200 UT, on Dec 25; single tone; "Jayu-e solibangsong-eseo bam 9 (ahob) sileul?allyeodeulibnida."?(In English - Voice of Freedom has announced 9pm); singing station jingle - "jinsil-e soli,?
huimang-e soli, jayu-e soli?bangsong!" (Voice of Truth, Voice of Hope, Voice of Freedom broadcast); "Bodo?gwangjang"
(News Plaza); fair-good reception with no N. Korea jamming. If they are smart, they will stay on?this frequency, as their?alternate frequency of 6045 is again being heard with N. Korea super jamming.

KBS Hanminjok Bangsong 1, on?6015, continues to be free of the usual strong white noise jamming from NK,?but instead
has light jamming heard?underneath, at 1150 UT.

CDNK North Korean Democratization Committee, on 6085, with *1400, on Dec 23. Heard just after the first day?closing
of Shiokaze at 1400*, on their alternate frequency of 6085 (// 7250); CDNK with good reception, but by?Dec 25, N.
Korean jamming had found Shiokaze and is now causing QRM for CDNK 1400+.
?
KOREA NORTH - On Dec 27, at 1205 UT:?

Pyongyang BS,?3320?//?6160, both fair.

KCBS Pyongyang, 3250 // 3959, both fair.

Echo of Unification, 3945 // 5905, both fair.

Also N. Korea super jamming returned to 6045 kHz. on Dec 25 and still here Dec 27. We can only hope Voice of?Freedom
does not again use this alternate frequency while the super jamming is active.

MALAYSIA. 9835, Sarawak FM, 1026 UT, on Dec 19, heard an SA that was new to me - "Sarawak FM, Be Happy"?
(brief audio attached).

Re: Asia - Pacific DX log(27) [Ron Howard]
AUSTRALIA. 5055, Radio 4KZ, on Jan 3, from 0915 till cut off at 0957:05* UT; above average reception, as I
was easily able to ID most of the pop songs; Bee Gees "Words," Van Morrison - "Brown Eyed Girl," Beatles -
"All You Need Is Love," Bertie Higgins - "Casablanca" [brief audio attached], Go West - "King Of Wishful
Thinking," Tears For Fears - "Everybody Wants To Rule The World," etc.; some commercial announcements.
Tomorrow should cut off at 0957:00* UT.

CHINA. 4940, at 1000 UT, Jan 3, still with the "This is the Voice of Taiwan Strait News Radio" SA in English;
not // 4900.

6060 // 7225, Sichuan PBS-2, 1030 UT, on Jan 3. Pleased to hear them with the usual multi-language SAs -
"Sichu?n minzu gu?ngbo, Sichuan Ethnic Radio"; fair reception on both frequencies.

KOREA SOUTH. 9095, Echo of Hope - VOH, 0545-0600* UT, on Jan 1. New Year's show of all pop songs in English
(Britney Spears - "Oops!...I Did It Again," etc.); fair-good. At *0600 UT, heard VOH start on 5995 // 6350.

VOH, 5995 // 6350, at 0724, Jan 2 (Sunday). Start of the weekend only English lesson, with reading of a "Harry
Potter" story.

Jan 3 (Monday) observations:

Echo of Hope - VOH: 3980 // 4885 // 5990 // 6250 // 6348 // 9100, at 1005 UT; these frequencies should be good
through Jan 9.

Voice of the People: 3910 // 3930 // 3480 (best reception!) // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1010 UT; these frequencies
do not change.

ZAMBIA. 5915, R. One/ZNBC1, 0247-0415 UT, Jan 1. The usual New Year's Day special broadcast; countless phone
conversations and playing a lot of nice African music; 0357, very pleased to hear my favorite "Happy Christmas/
Happy New Year" African song again; reception fair, but not as good as heard on Jan 1, 2015 (my 2015 audio - http://goo.gl/vmeGn0 ). A program I always enjoy!

AUSTRALIA. 5055, Radio 4KZ, cut off at 0954:25* UT, on Feb 3; recently consistent with five seconds earlier
cut off time every day. Feb 4 - Significant anomaly - Not heard at their usual time (checked 0941 UT), but

(The Rascals - "Groovin on a Sunday Afternoon" and many other recognizable pop oldies).

regional stations, but none found with any coverage. Brief audio attached.

Re: Malaysia - Sarawak FM (9835 kHz.) reactivated with good signal [Ron Howard]
MALAYSIA. Very good news! On June 27 found this country now with two active SW stations, both well heard.
What has happened on 9835? Did they totally overhaul the former xmtr or is this new? Brief audio attached.

11665, Wai FM. Doing my usual monitoring here at 1341 UT, to hear the often heard indigenous praying/chanting;
for a while now this has been routinely heard with good reception.

Checking 9835, amazed to find Sarawak FM, via Kajang (on the west coast of the Malaysia peninsular), on the air again
after a considerable absence; good signal; at 1352, long musical montage featuring their many types of "lagu" (music);
1359, "R-T-M" SAs and mentioning some of their various stations; into the news in vernacular, but cut off at 1401* UT,
with the first item about the University of Malaysia.

Thank you for the information about Korea.
Based on your information, I heard VOF today.

KOREA SOUTH. 5920, Voice of Freedom (ex: 6045), Aug 17, from 0753- UT.

Monday - Aug 29 observations:

KOREA SOUTH. Was unfamiliar with the VOH sign on format, so was very intrigued by Richard's report about hearing a
"foghorn" (Thanks Richard!), which I had never heard at any time in the past. Today when I checked for the weekly VOH
frequency changes, indeed heard the new format of foghorn at the ToH; noted foghorn at 1300 UT (10:00 PM JST) and?into
the news in?Korean (item about "Australia, Queensland," etc.); also again at 1401 UT (11:01 PM JST) and again at?1500
UT (12:00 midnight JST) (brief audio attached), followed?by the "Oneul-ui sosig" (Today's News) program.

VOH today on 3980 // 4885 // 5990 // 6250 // 6348 (VOH's only off frequency!) // 9100 kHz.; good from Aug 29 to Sept 4.

VANUATU. 7932, Radio Vanuatu, 0535-0659* UT Sept 6. Again being heard, but on this new frequency; seems this must
be the fundamental/primary frequency (not a harmonic), as no carrier heard on 3966 nor 11898; CODAR QRM, as also
reported by others. After 0659, I couldn't find them anywhere (2485, 3945, 5040, 7260, etc.). Here are a few

BANGLADESH. 4750, Bangladesh Betar (External Service), was unusually poor today; *1224 UT with test

INDONESIA. 3325, Voice of Indonesia, broadcasting from Palangkaraya, still silent (1207+ UT).

KOREA SOUTH. Echo of Hope -VOH, after two consecutive weeks on the same frequencies, VOH has finally
again made a Monday change:

3985 // 4890 // 5995 // 6255 // 6350.0 // 9105, at 1147 UT; the EBS TV audio feed for "Wang cho bo yeong-eo,"

Come Alive," by the Wizardz Of Oz/Ruben Martinez - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOnHJJUOuDI ; the
usual intro has announcer saying "English trainer" and giving his name ("Mayu"), then the woman announcer
says her name ("Mini"); 9105, as usual, with excellent reception (brief audio attached).

Voice of Freedom, 6045, at 1158 UT; closing SA for the "Aneun geos-i him-ida" (Knowledge is power) program;
1200, the usual single tone; then "Jayu-e solibangsong-eseo bam 9 (ahob) sileul allyeodeulibnida." (In English -

KOREA SOUTH. VOH: On 4890, April 16, from 1340 to 1347 UT, Choi Soo-jin's "Morning Special" EBS news
program in English and Korean; not just a news show, but really a language lesson, explaining the meaning
of many of the words used in the news; today's show was originally broadcast via EBS FM on March 29, so
actually old news (item "EBS Radio unveils its new programming lineup today," etc.).

VOH: On 9100, April 9 (Friday), at 1154 UT, with the weekday EBS (Educational Broadcasting System -

continuing with a repeating four hour program loop.

National Unity Radio, 9475, from 1245 to 1246 UT, on April 16 (Friday) with brief Chinese language lesson;

than I heard. On April 19 (Monday), for the first time on this frequency, noted no N. Korea jamming during the

April 19; totally unusable signal.

April 19 (Monday), with frequencies for this week:

Voice of the People: 3480 // 3910 // 3930 // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1115 UT.

It became quite easy to hear around 1100 UT, but I was still worried about SOH Chinese interference.

As Ron says, the sound is certainly bad.
It feels like the broadcast sound is delayed by a few seconds and the same sound is mixed with a distorted sound.
Even though the signal is strong, it's a shame.
The broadcast stopped just at 1400 UTC.
The end time seems to vary slightly from day to day. (-1400v *)

Re: Voice of Freedom on 5920 kHz at 1500 UTC. [Amano]
Hi Ron-san - Thank you for the VOF reception report around 1500 UTC.
It became a great reference for me!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 6 (Tuesday), found VOF (5920) not worth recording at 1500 UT, as there was strong QRM from Vatican
Radio on 5920, via the Philippines (*1430+).

Voice of Freedom, 5920, on July 12, at 1130 UT with program "Aneun geos-i him-ida" (Knowing Is Power),
which SA again at 1156; then at 1200, a single tone; VOF SA and station singing jingle; program "Bodo
gwangjang" (News Plaza); clear of any jamming, so good reception, whereas there was strong N. Korea
jamming that ended about 1100; later the NK jamming starts up again about 1358, in anticipation of the
*1405 start of Shiokaze (5920); shortly after Shiokaze signed off (1435*), the N. Korean ends, but at
1430, there is the strong start of Vatican Radio (5920). So for me, the best time for VOF reception is
between about 1100 to 1358 UT.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today I tried to receive VOF on 5920 at 1500 UT.

KOREA SOUTH. 5920, Voice of Freedom, 1455-1505 UT, July 16 (Thursday).
Perhaps it's jamming for Shiokaze, North Korean jamming is strong.
Still, I can hear VOF.
At 1500 UT, I heard the time signal announcement before the start of "Bodo gwangjang" (News plaza).
At 1503 UT, North Korean jamming has stopped.
Behind the VOF, a station believed to be Vatican Radio heard.
My audio attached.
* 00:00-04:10 1459’50“-1504’00“ UTC
* 00:10- a single tone; the time signal announcement;
’Jayu-e solibangsong-eseo ja-jeong eul allyeodeulibnida.’
In English, ’Voice of Freedom has announced at midnight (1500 UTC).’
* 03:06- At 1502’56“ UT, North Korean jamming has stopped.

The audio of the time signal announcement before the start of the "Bodo gwangjang" (News plaza) broadcast is all there.
I edited and summarized the following articles.

If there is other good audio, I will replace it.

Re: SIBC extended broadcast on 9545 kHz. [Ron Howard]
SOLOMON ISLANDS. 9545, SIBC, Voice of the Nation, 0502-0745 UT, Aug 8 (Sunday); religious music (0502-0515);
sounded like a religious sermon (0516-0533); in English at 0700, with calliope and news/sports/weather, followed by
"FM 96.3 . . . S-I-B-C, Voice of the Nation"; good number of series of commercial announcements (many for mobile
phone service) ; more segments of religious music; at times almost fair. Brief audio attached of ID and religious song.
This is especially nice when they do not switch frequency to 5020, at 0500.

Thank you for the timely information.
I listened to your received audio. It's clear without jamming.
The VOF turned out that the program schedule has not changed since January of this year!

* There is no doubt that the program of this received your audio is "Hanmin jog tong-illo milaelo" (Korean people, to unity, to the future).

I also looked at Ron-san's information and checked VOF at Sep. 3, 1726-2135 UTC.

1810 - "Nalssi Jeonmangdae" (Weather Observatory)

By the way, "Kkumkkuneun cheongchungeug“ (Dreaming youth drama) will be broadcast on weekdays in local time.

("This station is now the ultimate power in the universe" - at 1:00 on attached audio). The DX season
is coming!!

MYANMAR. 5985, Myanmar Radio, 1241-1255 UT, Sept 8 (Wednesday). Is always a pleasure to hear the comical
misadventures of "Tom." I have heard this identical show a total of four times; today and on Aug 7, 2017,
plus Feb 5, 2018 and Apr 28, 2021. "Say It In English" will be on again Friday, with a different show.

English language lesson ("Say It In English") already in progress; program will be repeated on Wed.; dialogue

the world," but he is "never on time for anything"; he missed the train and then rushes to take a taxi to the
airport to catch the 8:00 plane to Manchester; 1227 end of "Say It In English"; fairly readable . . . "

6185, CHBC, decent signal at 1019 UT, with Chinese opera, as they often do.

SIBC (5020), xmtr off 1202* UT.

R. Vanuatu (5040), audio ended at 1100 UT, after the NA; xmtr still on after 1240+ (open carrier/dead air).

0900-0910 UT news, 9835 (Sarawak FM) // 11665 (Wai FM); after 0910, not //.

VOI (3325), playing patriotic song “Bagimu Negeri” (For You Our Country) at 1110, after the news in Chinese and
again at 1211, after the news in Japanese, but with weak audio.

I noted Myanmar (9730) cutting off about 1200 UT. Since then they are definitely ex 1130*, but not very consistent with

AUSTRALIA. 5055, Radio 4KZ, random listening from 0849+ UT, on Jan 13. Well above
normal reception; almost semi-readable; pop songs (Bobby McFerrin - "Don't Worry
Be Happy," Mac Davis - "Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me," etc.). Certainly one of their
better receptions. Jan 11, noted 1202:01*.

KOREA NORTH[non]/SOUTH. Frequencies for this week; observed Monday, Jan 11:

VOP: 3480 (best frequency) // 3910 // 3930 // 4450 // 6520 // 6600, at 1030 UT. Another
week with no change.

VOH: 3985 (QRM) // 4890 // 5995 // 6255 // 6350 // 9105, at 1034. Another week with all
frequencies changed.

Voice of Freedom, 5920, at 1040, with good reception (no jamming); the super jamming,
white noise, from N. Korea was on 6045 and 6135, but later from 1157+ the jamming was
gone from 6135, so only there for a few days.

7200, National Unity Radio via TAIWAN (broadcasting to N. Korea), at 1143-1144, Jan 11.
Brief language lesson; started and ended with the pop song "ABC" by the Jackson 5; "Never

to Manuel Mendez (via WOR iog) for the timely alert! At tune in on 3945, was not too bad, but third
harmonic 11835 was unusable; after 0800, the 11835 reception had greatly improved; 0830, "Radio

usual intro to the news/sports/weather, with indigenous music of horns and drums; news ended at
